- Use only HIPAA-compliant platforms for patient consultations
- Maintain appropriate documentation of telehealth encounters
- Establish informed consent procedures with patients

4. Patient Informed Consent
Before participating in a telehealth consultation, patients must provide informed consent acknowledging:
- The telehealth consultation will take place via video and audio
- Potential risks of telehealth communication (technical interruption, privacy concerns)
- Alternative treatment options including in-person consultations
- Limitations of telehealth assessment compared to in-person evaluations
- How patient health information will be secured and used
- The provider's licenses and qualifications
- Emergency procedures if technical issues occur
- Right to withdraw consent and request alternative care

9. Technical Requirements
For optimal and secure telehealth consultations, we recommend:
- High-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps)
- Computer, tablet, or smartphone with current operating system
- Up-to-date web browser or RT Hub mobile app
- Stable power supply (charging during appointment recommended)
- Quiet, private location for confidential consultation
- Proper lighting for provider assessment
- Camera and microphone functionality
10. Limitations of Telehealth
Patients should understand that telehealth has limitations:
- Physical examination is limited compared to in-person visits
- Certain conditions may require in-person diagnostic testing
- Emergency situations should be directed to emergency services (call 911)
- Technical interruptions may require rescheduling
- Provider may recommend in-person follow-up if needed
11. Emergency Procedures
If a medical emergency occurs during a telehealth session:
- Immediately disconnect and call 911
- Inform the provider of the emergency before disconnecting if possible
- Provide your location to emergency responders
- RT Hub will not be liable for complications from emergency situations
